When did you start playing kendama and why did you start?
I started in November 2016 after seeing videos on YouTube while trying to pick up yoyo.
Where are you from?
The land of dragons, Swansea, South Wales.
Favourite style and kendama game?
So as a player playing Ken suits my play style as well as pushes me to try other trick combos and other movement patterns. And my favourite style of play is to use body stalls. juggles and taps to create my own style.
Favourite pro and non pro player?
I'd have to say my favourite pro player is Jake Weins as his style and creativity flows through his play and his passion for dama is boundless. My favourite none pro player is aventis (@aventis) because he shows that kendama is more than juggles and taps and I admire that it has not stopped him playing or progressing with his dama style.
What other hobbies do you have?
I've been involved in skill based hobbies from a young age taking playing diabolo and fire spinning for a local circus, I've always loved anything with wheels; be it skateboard, bmx and mtb. I've currently taken up trail riding. The past year I've gotten into strength and fitness training and I also love pushing my self at the local bouldering gym.
What is your best kendama memory?
My best kendama memory has to be SK’s Manchester UK tour event, my first event after being asked to join the SK family and bringing home the win against players I look up to. I was so hyped I couldn't react.
Preferred string length and setup weights
With regards to string anything more that 3 fingers and less than 7, can’t deal with that slack. As for weights play all damas until you adjust to the weights otherwise any dama may disappoint you and dama to me is about having a blast with like minded people.
